Support Our Armed Forces Heroes: Big Give Appeal

You can now make twice the impact for the same donation in supporting UK Armed Forces veterans, reservists and their families struggling with mental health issues. PTSD Resolution, the national charity providing free and effective therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), is taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge - the UK’s biggest matched funding campaign.

As a Big Give charity partner, donations to PTSD Resolution between 28th November and 5th December will be doubled. This provides a tremendous opportunity to boost fundraising so the charity can continue their life-changing work serving those who bravely served us.

Serving Those Who Served

PTSD Resolution, charity no. 1202649, was founded in 2009 to address the lack of adequate mental health support for veterans. Through a nationwide network of over 200 therapists, the charity provides free and prompt therapy tailored to veterans’ needs and accessible through self-referral.?

Therapy is confidential, either in person or over the phone or online, and focuses on quickly resolving issues within an average of seven sessions.

The charity has received over 4,000 referrals to date. An independent 2015 evaluation by King’s College London concluded PTSD Resolution’s therapy outcomes are comparable to NHS IAPT services, despite supporting clients with more complex trauma.?

Crucially, help is extended to marginalised groups like veterans in prison and those battling addiction. Support is also available for partners and children experiencing secondary trauma.

38-year old veteran Paul shares: “When I left the Army, I struggled badly with PTSD and alcoholism. PTSD Resolution helped turn my life around - the therapy gave me coping strategies so I could stop drinking and regain control.”
