Support Local Businesses as you Support the Tar Heels
UNC Women's Lacrosse has a HUGE game this weekend, so you better get your Carolina gear ready to cheer on the Tar Heels! Luckily, Chapel Hill has a ton of great local shops on Franklin Street to support and get in the spirit.
Here are some great local businesses to visit to amp up your Carolina spirit:
Shrunken Head Boutique
Shrunken Head is the oldest UNC shop in Chapel Hill. This family-owned local business has been serving the Tar Heel community with its unique items, exceptional customer service, and a broad selection of gifts since 1969.
When you walk through the doors of Shrunken Head, you are immediately welcomed by a sea of Carolina blue. It's a Carolina fan's dream. Get in the Carolina spirit with UNC items for yourself, your pet, your backyard, your car, and even your house. Shrunken Head is the perfect place to embrace your love for Carolina and show it off! Shop online here, or visit the shop on Franklin Street!
Johnny T-Shirt
Located on Franklin Street, Johnny T-Shirt is an alumni-owned family business that has been serving Carolina fans since 1983. Johnny T-Shirt is well known for providing a large selection of quality sportswear and unique gift items for UNC alumni, students, and tourists, making it a must-visit for ultimate Carolina fans.
From Carolina hats, Nike shirts, earrings, books, baby clothes, jerseys, masks, blankets, to more than you could imagine, Johnny T-Shirt has everything you need to cheer on the Heels. Shop online here, or visit the store on Franklin Street!
Chapel Hill Sportswear
Chapel Hill Sportswear is the prime spot to check out when in the need of gear to cheer on your favorite Carolina teams. A former UNC athlete opened Chapel Hill Sportswear in 1989 and has been serving Tar Heel fans online and in-store ever since.
The shop has two levels, consisting of official UNC team and coaches gear, Nike products, accessories, polos, tees, and everything in between. Make sure to give yourself enough time to shop around, because there are A LOT of amazing options. Shop online here, or visit the store on Franklin Street!
One of my favorite things about Chapel Hill is the unbreakable spirit that is shared amongst students, professors, alumni, locals, and fans. I remember walking on campus for the first time being mesmerized by all of the people decked out in Carolina gear. Everything here is Carolina blue - the firetrucks, the crosswalks, the sky, and everything in between. The pride in this town is truly amazing and it is what makes being a student-athlete here so special.
Support local businesses as you support your favorite team! Get in the Carolina spirit and cheer on the Tar Heels this weekend at our game against Syracuse at 11 a.m. on Saturday!
