One of the constant things in life is stress. It is all around us, from our personal lives to our work and wherever we go. And so for Pacific Union's latest Support Education Program, we discussed the topic on Stress Management in the Workplace.
This 2-hour workshop was led by Ms. Con Lorenzo from Optima Training and Consultancy Inc. - a company dedicated to the improvement of individuals in the workplace with an emphasis on their mental well-being. The goal of the talk consisted of two things - to identify and understand stress and to introduce effective strategies for managing stress.
A key insight from the seminar is the concept of ENER-B which means E-Event, N- Negative Thought, E-Emotions, R-Reactions, and B-Boost. This acronym basically talks about the cycle of stress, the event that kicks it off, and how we are triggered by it. Another key insight is ID or Internal Dialogue which are the words we tell to ourselves during our private moments.
Through Ms. Con's teachings, she taught Pacific Union's head office how to use their ID for the betterment of their mental health.
Ultimately, the seminar was a success and allowed Pacific Union's team to talk, open up, and deal with their personal and professional stress in life. Not only was it an engaging and informative seminar, but it also engaged our head office well through the various exercises and sharing.
