Supply Chain Stories: Business Growth with Advanced Drainage Systems
Drainage products may fly under the radar of our everyday life – and underground – but it is a huge business that supports infrastructure and communities across the country. Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS) is a company that focuses on drainage products and services that deliver quality water management solutions. With their focus on water management solutions, they also work to ensure the land is more arable, cities are more livable, and the world is a little greener.
Where our relationship began
The relationship between DHL Supply Chain and ADS began in 2019 with a 100,000-square-foot retail fulfillment center in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. This project also established a truck fleet to serve customers in the Northeast region of the United States.
In 2021, the partnership expanded for the first time to include two DHL-operated facilities in Greer, South Carolina, and Middletown, Ohio, totaling 487,000 square feet in warehouse space. This investment allowed ADS the opportunity to consolidate their eCommerce fulfillment operations, provide additional capacity for finished goods distribution, increase fill rates, and reduce order cycle times.

Here we “grow” again
The partnership between ADS and DHL Supply Chain is set to grow again with an expansion of ADS’ retail distribution network. This expansion includes warehouse and fleet management to expand delivery performance as strong demand in the construction industry continues to be a factor.
DHL Supply Chain will lead the build and operation of a brand-new 112,000-square-foot facility in Denton, Texas. The facility will be supported by a dedicated fleet delivering products to customers in the South-central region of the United States, and will create 33 new roles to support this effort.
“As the demand for our products and services grows, we look to trusted partners that can support the growth of our business in the best way.
