Supply Chain Impact of Industry 4.x #1 - Introduction
This is the third series of LinkedIn articles that I am writing as part of my PhD research project. The first series of articles focused on the creation of a chemical substance reporting system, the second series of articles focused on the risk management of chemical substance reporting data.
This series of short articles will discuss the potential supply chain impacts which could occur with adoption of industry 4.x. The sequence of articles will hopefully be as follows:

- Article 4 - Developing a Simple Framework for Digital Transformation.

The reason for writing this series of articles is to try and demystify industry 4.x a little to a wider audience, introducing basic key concepts and share concerns as to the future of supply chains.
I shall use the phrase industry 4.x rather than industry 4.0 as there are several sources of change are currently being pursued, not just in design, manufacture, but also in conceptual models of product ownership and repair.
Like the internet, the pace at which industry 4.x will become adopted will pretty much unstoppable, as industries and governments seek to gain further competitive and technological advantages over one another. The sheer amount of investment which is occurring on smart technologies and deep learning systems, to aid autonomous transformation and management systems is really quite immense.
The aim of this series of articles is to inform and engage and discuss the real world implications of industry 4.x on supply chains.
