The supplier scouting and selection shall be long term strategy always. Strategic partnership should always look for a reasonable TCO at medium term at least. There is no saving as short term for business relations, the interdependence and feedbacks just come afterwards of the nomination. Moreover the improvements and benefits usually came after a business portfolio stabliahed at the partnership where both sides can leaverage of the mutual managemt costs.
