I am honored to be featured in one of the leading publications in Slovenia, Dnevnik d. d. on the topic of my latest keynote presentation on Wisdom at the #lovehr conference in Slovenia. This article is so well researched and written by ??Tonja Blatnik . I got in touch with her and asked her permission to translate the article and present it to my English speaking audience to which she most graciously agreed.
I was extremely impressed by how she brought such clarity and context to the business world and the real world application of wisdom and intuition as an important part of the future of work. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Superpowers: Wisdom and Intuition: It's not woo-woo; these are practical leadership tools.
The future of work is dynamic, emphasizing flexibility, adaptability, and a mix of human-UI collaboration. But it also holds a simple fact: everyone wants to be noticed, successful, respected regardless of what type of work they do.
"Most people, say 90 percent, have a need to feel that someone cares, and when someone cares, we have more energy, focus more easily on our tasks, maintain relationships, solve problems and be creative. When we feel that someone neither cares about our challenges nor is willing to make an effort to change it, our action is usually the opposite,"
said Harvard professor Carin-Isabel Knoop at the IEDC earlier this year. Artificial intelligence can make an impact here in two ways. Either management will become "more dismissive of employees and perhaps stricter.
" Interacting with machines, barking commands at them and expecting them to always respond to our needs could make us more demanding and less patient.
"In such an environment, it is much more difficult to feel empathy and compassion, to have patience and to change as a person and as an organization,"
says Knoop. On the other hand, a different scenario is also gaining ground. As part of the Slovenian HR Congress, the #loveHR Summit, which took place yesterday and ends today, Rishad Ahmed, a management expert who says he is obsessed with authenticity in the workplace and the question of what makes us truly human in the constant changing technological landscape, stressed:
"Wisdom and intuition are what, in my opinion, will lead leaders and teams into the future."
So the other direction is brighter: compassionate leadership, empowering individuals, a philosophy that emphasizes the importance of wisdom, authenticity, intelligence and self-initiative in facing challenges.
Modern challenges require more than just technical solutions.
"In the era of artificial intelligence, wisdom and intuition are becoming key factors of competitive advantage,"
Rishad Ahmed said yesterday in Portoro?. In the context of modern management, the introduction of artificial intelligence brings a unique set of challenges and opportunities.
Although artificial intelligence contributes tremendous efficiency and data-driven decision-making, it lacks the multifaceted understanding, ethical discernment, and emotional intelligence that are the basis and indispensable part of human wisdom. Incorporating wisdom into modern leadership, especially in the age of artificial intelligence, becomes critical for several reasons. Ahmed highlighted the following.
“Wisdom brings a moral and ethical dimension to decision-making.”
In the absence of clear ethical guidelines, leaders may face ethical dilemmas that AI without moral intuition may not recognize. Wisdom helps leaders navigate complex situations, ensuring that decisions are consistent with values, social norms, and long-term consequences.
The business world is increasingly characterized by uncertainty and rapid changes. Wisdom equips leaders with the ability to make logical decisions in ambiguous situations where data alone may not be sufficient. This involves drawing on experience, intuition and a deep understanding of context to make informed decisions.

Wisdom emphasizes a human-centered approach to leadership. While AI excels at processing data and automating tasks, it lacks the empathy and understanding needed to lead effectively. Wisdom enables leaders to connect with their teams on a personal level, foster a positive work environment, and address the human aspects of organizational dynamics.
Wisdom encourages leaders to take a long-term perspective, considering the broader impact of decisions on the organization, its stakeholders, and society. Conversely, AI can optimize short-term goals without necessarily considering the sustainability or social consequences of those actions.
Wisdom involves a continuous process of learning and adaptation. In a dynamic world full of technological advances, leaders must evolve with the environment. Wisdom allows leaders to reflect on experiences, learn from mistakes, and adapt their leadership styles to meet the evolving needs of their teams and organizations.
Wisdom enhances a leader's ability to confront complex, multifaceted problems by considering diverse perspectives, understanding the interconnectedness of issues, and proposing holistic solutions that align with broader organizational goals. Wisdom contributes to the creation of a positive organizational culture. Leaders who embody wisdom create trust, foster a sense of purpose, and create an environment where employees feel valued.
This is critical to attracting and retaining talent in an era where people's experience in the workplace is increasingly important. Wisdom is closely related to emotional intelligence. This includes understanding and managing one's own emotions and those of others. Emotional intelligence is essential for effective communication, conflict resolution, and building strong interpersonal relationships—key components of successful leadership that AI lacks.
Although artificial intelligence offers unprecedented advances in efficiency and analysis, integrating wisdom into modern leadership is indispensable for addressing multifaceted challenges, promoting ethical decision-making, and cultivating a work environment that values both technological advancements and the unique qualities of human leadership.
Leaders who incorporate wisdom along with UI technologies are better prepared to navigate the complexities of the modern business world with empathy, foresight and commitment to a better tomorrow.
Intuition enables a person to become wise
How to strengthen intuition and obtain answers from the unconscious in the business world is a question posed by Violeta Bulc, author of the business systems evolution model, also known as the former European Commissioner for Transport in the European Commission.
"Today, more and more companies feel that a rational approach to business is not enough and that empirical data must be combined with soft elements; Intuition is thus becoming a new management tool."
We live in a world where it is believed that the quality of judgment is related to the time and effort invested. We teach children not to praise the day before the evening and to hurry slowly. We believe that it is much better to gather as much information as possible and think for as long as possible. We only truly trust the decisions we consciously make.
But at certain moments, especially when we are under pressure, looks are not deceiving and we can even make more sense of the world with flash assessments and first impressions.
Intuition is an ignored, silenced tool of leaders.
Holistic thinking not only reduces costs and increases profits, it transforms lives, protects our planet and instills a sense of purpose. The key to sustainability and profitability is in our hands, waiting to be unlocked with a broader, interconnected approach.
