SUPERMAN HAS NOTHING ON YOU !

I find it fascinating that anyone would think of Superman as a hero.
I too would stand up against evil dictators and mafioso kingpins if bullets bounced off me.
In fact, most people are very brave...
In video games.
That's because death is merely a temporary setback, and the only problem is restarting. As most people know, life doesn't work like that.
And for those who don't know, there's the Emergency Room.
A monkey is sitting on a river bank and asks an amoeba what it needs to be more successful?
Assuming amoebas can understand monkey, it would probably say, "More goo to float in."
I am sure the monkey would be shocked.
Wouldn't it want an opposable thumb?
Next to the monkey is Dave from Brooklyn, and he asks our river monkey the same question.
Assuming the monkey understands Brooklyn English, it would probably answer, longer arms.
Like the monkey, Dave is also shocked.
Wouldn't it want to touch-type?
And finally, next to Dave is Superman. And Dave thinks to himself: "That's exactly what I need!"
"I could solve so many of my problems if I could only fly."
Except it won't.
It would only make Dave's life worse.
Why?
Well, did you ever see one of these bumper stickers?
They are on the bumper of Hulk's car.
Of all movie genres, the worst (by far) are superhero movies. That's because they contain this secret message: everyone else hasn't got a chance.
We are all losers!
These types of movies implicitly make people think (especially children) that if only we had a little more, then all our problems would evaporate.
A little faster, a little stronger; you get the idea.
It's unfortunate, but I never saw a superhero movie end with any hope for we mere mortals, other than hope Batman shows up in the nick of time. And he only seems to do that when there's dramatic music playing.
Not only would Superman NOT be able to help with any of life's real problems...
But he would actually make them worse. Much worse.
This goes for Superwoman, Spiderman and even Iron Man.
It's like your car, rocket fuel doesn't improve its functionality. It's calibrated for gasoline, perfectly. And anything more than that is really far less.
It might seem to us that a panda bear would prefer a safe cage and all the food it can eat, but it really needs to be in a forest, or the closest thing to it. The first zoos made many mistakes in this regard, and the results were tragic.
We are perfectly calibrated for the life we have, just like a monkey is perfectly calibrated for a rain forest.
This leads us to an uncomfortable, annoying, but inevitable conclusion, an escalator really doesn't make life easier.
We just think it does.
Just like a monkey thinks a zoo is better than a rainforest.
It's true, it makes a very small part of your day easier. It's just the rest of your life that pays the price.
Because to compensate for escalators, and all their modern equivalent conveniences, we have to go to the gym on a regular basis. Let alone all the medications for such a sedentary and inactive modern lifestyle.
A lot of tech is fun, and for sure convenient, but I would challenge anyone to provide any aspect of life that is richer or more meaningful because of it.
Families are no closer, and the general population is neither happier nor more self-actualized. If anything, people today are really struggling to attain peace of mind and self-confidence.
That is because, like monkeys and amoebas, we are perfectly calibrated for life.
CENTURY Q1 RESULTS:
machines: 1 / humanity: 0
This is a supercomputer called K, one of the most powerful computers in the world:
Researchers used it to try and simulate brain activity. Even though it has more than 700,000 processor cores and 1.4 million gigabytes of RAM, it only managed to simulate one second of partial brain activity.
What’s impressive for your brain, is that it took K 40 minutes to do what your brain does in less than one second! (Source: livescience.com)
God did not give you such a sophisticated brain so you could play candy crush or even angry birds.
Or even design them.
You have such phenomenal brain power, so that you can solve the problems that life sends you.
And you are not going to do that by watching Superman, or most of what is offered on Netflix.
Think about it, whether it's Oppenheimer or even Batman, you aren't actually learning from either of those two namesakes, you are actually watching the life experience, thinking and wisdom of the screenwriter.
Or lack thereof.

And in all likelihood, none of them are any better at solving life's problems.
If you wouldn't let the director of the movie you are watching, watch over your child for the day, why are you giving them your child's mind?
According to Judaism, Human Beings are greater than the angels themselves!
Know who you are, and what you are made of, and you have all you need to solve your problems.
And Superman?
He's got nothing on you!
Watch out world, you are going to fly!
THE 5 RULES OF PROBLEM SOLVING
# ONE:
It might be your first rodeo, but it's not THE first rodeo. You aren't the first person to go through something like this.
It is practically impossible that at this stage in history, that no-one has solved what you are struggling with.
Someone out there has the solution. Or they wrote about it.
Find them!
Personally, I have found that if I pick up a book on the subject, even if it is not that helpful, nevertheless it will mention greater experts.
It's a bit of a scavenger hunt, but it's fun with the right attitude.
# TWO:
Resentment is to a career, as Roundup is to weeds.
It's a toxic force that stifle's creativity. You cannot be open-minded and be resentful at the same time.
Resentment forces us to go into a defensive protective mode.
The only antidote is to realize that the abuser did you a favor. You really did learn a ton from the experience.
So instead of hating them, maybe try thanking them, or at the very least be grateful for what they did.
If you really want to get back at them, then this is the way. Because holding on to it only hurts you, and being grateful is the only path to letting it go.
It's the ultimate revenge!
# THREE:
We cannot imagine an idea we have not heard of before.
Even if it's staring us in the face!
And even if someone is telling us!
Being open to a new idea requires humility. Therefore, King Solomon advises, SEEK advice.
The process of seeking, regardless of the outcome, brings humility.
Personally, I find that prayer helps too. I preface my request of the Almighty with an acknowledgement that the solution is probably staring me in the face!
In this, I am often correct.
# FOUR:
Other people’s path to success is as clear to us, as ours is to them.
And just as you are unwilling to tell them, they don’t want to tell you.
Most people are not going to risk offending you.
Consider yourself most fortunate if you have a friend who is willing to be brutally honest and tell you what you don't want to hear.
Someone like that is worth their weight in gold.
# FIVE:
If you need people to tell you, you are right, buy a parrot.
Some people are cups of coffee and some people are popcorn.
Surround yourself with the people who inspire and motivate you - coffee.
Popcorn is for sitting on the couch and going mindless.
Coffee people are the precious people. They will inspire and motivate you. They will ultimately make your life easier and most importantly, richer.
