Autonomous trains

Trains that can “see” and “think” for themselves – #autonomous trains – will play a pivotal role in reducing costs and boosting reliability, as well as cutting emissions and energy consumption.

Digital signalling

Our ground-breaking digital signalling platform is purpose-built to run the most demanding safety-critical applications in the cloud, including interlocking and ETCS Radio Block Centres. Trackside assets can be linked using any wired or radio communications backbone you choose, from fibre optic to LTE and 5G. And thanks to a new generation of field element controllers, the need for hardware and cabling is minimised – shrinking the carbon footprint of your signalling system. Our digital signalling is future proof, fully interoperable with existing systems and everything runs on standard industrial servers. The solution is Cybersecured by Design, which means that #cybersecurity is built into the solution from the design stage and IEC 62443 certified.

Operation control

Data-driven Operation Control Centres (OCCs) are a game changer for our metro customers, with artificial intelligence (AI) and video analytics enabling a wealth of brand new features. Among these are tools to manage passenger flow and ease crowding, adaptive train scheduling, applications for crisis and incident management that reduce operator workload, and remote OCC functionality delivered anywhere via a tablet. On top of this, we can provide you with new energy-saving tools – and services – to reduce the power consumption of both trains and station auxiliaries, helping you to get the most out of every kilowatt-hour.

Data-driven operations and maintenance

Our digital self-service platform makes it easy for our customers to make full use of their data. You can use the platform to extract insights, master complex Internet of Things (#iot) constellations and run digital services – including safety-related applications up to and including SIL 2. The scope of the platform is enormous and includes everything from traffic management and predictive maintenance to energy-saving tools for train operators. The platform allows you to try out new services before you buy them. Everything is accessible via a web-based browser, with hosting in a secure public cloud or a private data centre.

Smart mobility

Passengers need flexible ways to plan and pay for their journeys using any mode of transport – especially in the post-pandemic world, where travel patterns for work and recreation are less predictable. Digital technology holds the key to responding to this new context. Our offer includes a powerful cloud-based back office ticketing platform to support your transition to Mobility as a Service (MaaS), including easy on-boarding of new operators.

The platform also makes it easy to implement new fares, making it particularly valuable at a time when operators are looking to fine-tune ticketing products to promote social inclusion. All of this is backed up with front-end tools that revolutionise the passenger experience, including hands-free #ticketing which eliminates the need to tap in.
