Supergut Secures New Funding and Expands Leadership to Drive Growth in Gut Health

Supergut , a trailblazer in gut health and GLP-1 nutrition, has announced the successful closure of a major minority growth investment. The funding will fuel the company’s expansion into retail, drive product innovation, and support the hiring of top-tier talent.

In a significant leadership shift, Tracey Warner Halama , former CEO of Vital Proteins, has been appointed as Supergut’s new CEO, bringing her extensive experience in scaling wellness brands to the company. She is also the Operating Partner at Full Frame Growth Partners that led the recent funding round and was previously the Founder and Managing Partner of Creekside Ventures.

Supergut was founded in 2019 by Marc Washington in memory of his sister with a mission to empower individuals to take charge of their health through the power of the gut microbiome. Since its inception, the company has experienced rapid growth, becoming a leader in science-backed nutrition designed to improve gut health, regulate appetite, and enhance overall wellness.

The company offers functional superfoods and supplements that help optimize digestion, control appetite, and boost metabolic health.

Strategic Investment for the Next Phase of Growth

The latest funding round was led by Full Frame Growth Partners, a Texas-based growth equity firm edit here specializing in high-potential consumer brands. Other key investors include Supergut’s founding investor, Dave Friedberg, through The Production Board, along with Cultivian Sandbox, Strand Equity, Access Capital, Alpha Edison, LivWell Ventures, and Rocana Ventures.

With this investment, Bader Alam , Founder & Managing Partner of Full Frame Growth Partners, will join Supergut’s Board of Directors. The company plans to use the funding to expand retail distribution, accelerate product development, and strengthen its team as it scales to meet growing consumer demand.

Leadership Expansion to Propel Supergut’s Mission

As part of this growth phase, Marc Washington will transition to the role of Executive Chairman, continuing to drive strategic expansion and reinforce Supergut’s commitment to science-backed innovation. Tracey Warner Halama, a seasoned CPG executive with a proven track record of building iconic wellness brands, will step in as Supergut’s CEO.

Halama is best known for leading Vital Proteins from its early stages to full acquisition and integration into Nestlé Health Science. She brings a deep understanding of brand-building, consumer engagement, and scaling health-focused products.

Washington expressed his excitement about the transition, stating:

“Supergut has always been about more than just products—I founded the company in my sister’s memory to empower people to take control of their health through the science of the gut microbiome. I’m excited to partner with Tracey as she brings her proven leadership and experience to amplify our bold mission at Supergut”.

Halama echoed this enthusiasm, highlighting Supergut’s strong position in the market:

“Supergut has all the makings to create a legacy brand—its science-backed foundation legitimizes the prebiotic, fiber-rich supplement category; brand awareness is growing with national distribution at leading retailers; and its mission-driven purpose resonates with consumers. With strong tailwinds in both the GLP-1 and fiber categories, Supergut is well positioned for exceptional growth in the coming years, and I’m honored to lead the next chapter.”

Capitalizing on Consumer Megatrends in Gut Health and GLP-1 Nutrition

The increasing demand for gut health solutions and GLP-1-enhancing products has positioned Supergut at the forefront of these consumer megatrends. Investors see the brand’s ability to blend science and accessibility as a key advantage in the competitive health and wellness space.

Bader Alam of Full Frame Growth Partners emphasized this momentum, stating:

“Gut health and GLP-1 nutrition are two consumer megatrends that continue to pick up steam. Supergut is at the forefront of these movements, with a leading brand and accessible products powered by prebiotic fiber that can easily fit into one’s daily routine.”

Expanding Retail Reach and Product Innovation

Supergut has experienced remarkable 172% growth over the past year, fueled by its expansion into 5,000+ retail locations across major stores, including Erewhon, Target, Sprouts, GNC, and The Vitamin Shoppe.

A driving force behind this success is Supergut’s GLP-1 booster product, an unflavored powder containing 6g of a patented prebiotic fiber blend designed to mix seamlessly into any food or beverage.

This innovation has drawn significant attention from both consumers and retailers, reinforcing Supergut’s leadership in the gut health and metabolic wellness space.

Unlike other gut health brands, Supergut’s products stand out due to their scientifically validated benefits. The company remains the only brand in its category whose products have been rigorously tested in a gold-standard, peer-reviewed clinical study, demonstrating their ability to:

  • Control cravings
  • Support gut microbiome health
  • Regulate blood sugar levels
  • Sustain energy throughout the day

With a fresh round of funding, an expanded leadership team, and an accelerating retail presence, Supergut is poised to lead the next wave of innovation in gut health and metabolic nutrition.

The combination of science-backed products, strategic investments, and a strong leadership team makes this a brand to watch in the rapidly evolving wellness industry.
