Last couple of days I was busy with learning video editing software. I was thinking to make short videos based on the sustainable topic, but seems it is not easy as writing :P . Now, I am pretty much proficient with software but not sure if I can continue that project.

Most of our denim wash chemicals are somehow harmful to the environment. It is challenging to develop a new eco friendly chemical without compromising wash quality. On the other hand, the market size for eco denim chemicals is very small. Due to insufficient demand, chemical companies do not want to invest in research and development for the niche market.
In this case, machine optimization can be a solution. Changing inside structure of washing or drying machine such as installing a curved plate can create the abrasive look on denim.
The curved plate can be interchangeable, which will give the flexibility to change plate for different wash look. The initial investment will be reduced, as the manufacturer doesn't have to buy a separate machine for each wash.
Furthermore, Stonewash effect can be easily obtained by using uneven plastic ball (with spikes) instead of pumice stone. By this process, the use of pumice stone can be fully eliminated.

Since, I have limited education on mechanical engineering, demonstrating an effective method is difficult for me. However, further study and research on this area by expert surely bring us positive news. Hope for the best.

Actually, it is quite possible to achieve not all but most of the designs with ecological chemistry and sustainable processes that we have been washing by conventional methodologies for so many years. Now we target to make complete detox for the roadmap of zero discharge. There are promising alternative products for potassium permanganate, hypochloride and pumice stones.
