The 1980s saw the emergence of electronic dance music and new wave, also known as Modern Rock. As disco fell out of fashion in the decade's early years, genres such as post-disco and dance-pop became more popular. Late 80's saw the rise of Rave and as we now know the term House Classics were embedded into our culture and the younger generation psyche.
Do you remember how we used to copy over old cassettes? Tippexing titles and placing stickers over labels. Here, artist TBOY has created a beautiful original piece. Wall hanging sculpture based upon nostalgic late 1980's dance culture. Removing the famous Rolling Stones name tag and taping over those Keith Richard Guitar riffs with new wave electronic dance. Welcome 'House Classics '88!'
Made to scale with the reels made from 12" vinyl records and the tape made from vintage 35mm. Steel, tinted acrylic, giclee print and hand painted detail. 90cm in length by 60 cm height.
