Super increases and the impact on personal injuries damages - 2024 update

Since 2012 we here at?Vincents review the judicial decisions in the previous financial year to see how the Courts have approached the loss of superannuation in personal injury claims.

They have varied over the years and 2024 was no different. This year we have continued our practice to consider decisions from all jurisdictions across Australia and not just Queensland or NSW.

The results were interesting.

How will the Courts deal with the increase in the contribution rate from 11% to 12%? We think we might have an idea.
