Super-dads: Skills of success

I get fortunate to spend time with some super dads this weekend. It doesn't come frequently enough, but it is worth the momemnt to share. The super-dad manages roles of being a provider, nurse, chauffer, coach, problem solver, and selfless doner. They live among us, but rarely raise their head to be singled out. They fear their skills not being recognized at work, at home, in a social party. They work with their head down because they don't have the social support, especially those from the Indian culture.
As I interacted with these super mortals, I recognize that the skills of success are common:
- Master organizers- they balance work, life, kids, social... PMP worthy!
- Master Chef - cooking a quick meal or a three course for a party... takeout is acceptable in 2017... presentation gets points.
- Top Talent - working to ensure their income to support their family is never at risk. enf said
- Flexible rubber bands - they boast about their failures... and how quickly they recover and accommodate the situation. They never ask for special treatment, as they expect any.
- Top coaches - they don't have all the answers... and they ADMIT it... figure it out weather it be how to raise teenage daughters or how to access blackboard on the iPad (yes... its hard for us).
- Style - and the classy few ... they do it in style (without the cape)... well dressed for the part and ensuring they take care of their biggest asset... their body... setting an example.
I publish this to raise awareness globally that being a single parent is a blessing and should be treated as such and not a handicap unless you choose to make it one. Here is to all the single parents!
