Super Bowl 2022: You Can Go Home Again
If the truth be known, I’m not the biggest fan of football. But Bob Kraft ( always Mr. Kraft to me) gave me a boost when I left television to start my career in business, so I’ll always cheer for the Patriots. And, of course, Tom Brady IS the greatest of all time. But this past weekend my heart belonged to my hometown of #Cincinnati. There I was on Sunday practicing the Ickey shuffle and sending texts to my brothers, nieces and nephews who, all these years later, wonder why it was that I ever left Ohio.
But leave I did at a young age and never looked back as I fully embraced everything New England…except when Cincinnati Reds are on a streak or when the Bengals, for the first time in 32 years, are on the way to the Super Bowl.
Watching the game on Sunday, I flash-backed to the time when I brought my Dorchester born, Boston proud, soon to be husband home to meet my parents. In welcoming Jack to the family, my father said to him, “Give Cincinnati a chance. It will grow on you.”
I think Dad was really speaking to me, as a reminder that no matter where life takes us, it’s always good to bring a little of our home town with us.
So for the next few weeks, for me it will be all about Bengals balloons, Skyline Chili, Graeters ice cream and shouts of Who Dey! #SuperBowl2022 #WhoDey #gobengals

3 年Hope the Bengals win a close game for you, Geri. They all better be wearing their “why not us?” tee shirts under the pads. It worked for a certain Red Sox team in 2004.
