Sunil Makkar, on his Allsec Journey

Sunil Makkar is the Business Lead for Allsec in the EMEA region. In this article, he takes us through his Allsec journey and how he grew from milestone to milestone.

"There are few moments in life when I shift focus from the present to pause, take stock, and reflect on my journey thus far. As I step into my fourth year at Allsec Technologies, I cannot help but look back and cherish my progress during my time with this company.

In 2019, when I worked in Allsec’s Bengaluru office, I was handed the responsibility of managing clients from South India. With over 20+ years in the industry, Allsec’s portfolio already comprised many prolific and beloved brands. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to liaise directly with these clients. While representing the company, rather than be forced to follow cookie-cutter ideas, I was encouraged to put forth my unique perspective on how Allsec would be the perfect solution for the client’s HR requirements.

Despite being an extrovert all my life, I came to Allsec without much experience in handling sales. However, the guidance of senior team members like Mr. Mahadevan (Sr. VP – HRO) afforded me the freedom to make mistakes and learn from those moments.

Unlike anything else I had done before, working as part of the Allsec team instilled confidence in me. I’m even thankful for the mistakes I made. That gave me the conviction to overcome any adversity and speak to clients without breaking a sweat. Members of the management such as Mr. Chinmay (Global Head of Sales),  Mr. K.G. Mohan (VP. of Operations) and Mr. Ashish (CEO) often expressed their belief in the importance of individuality and their unwavering faith in my abilities. It keeps me motivated every day to work harder, improve myself, and take the company to greater heights.

Of course, when I closed a sale for the first time, it was such a high! That was the first time I clearly understood what I wanted to do in life – hardcore sales! Over and above the thrill of closing, being in a sales position allowed me to explore more of South India. I had the opportunity to witness diverse cultures, and engage with interesting people. This prepared me to face any situation in life. And, none of this would be possible if not for Allsec Technologies.

From being a sales executive in Bengaluru, to handling business development for the Middle East, Allsec has taken me and my career to places I had never imagined, in just the last three years. Now that I am living my dream life, I aim to establish Allsec as a key player in payroll outsourcing and automation beyond the Indian borders, starting from UAE. From here on, it’ll still be onward and upward!"
