The Sunday Spotlight

The Sunday Spotlight

A 3 minute read.

3 things. A lesson, a win and a thank you.

Let's see where this takes us....

A lesson. ??

The world can feel like a scary place sometimes. It’s also incredibly beautiful. But only if you look up.?

This week’s spotlight is going to be short.?

I’m very privileged to be in Austria skiing with my family right now. The scenery is stunning. The air is clean and fresh. The sun is shining. It doesn’t get much better than this.?

I’ve hardly touched my phone since I arrived. But I have carved out some time to work on the book.?

Interestingly, with a calmer mind the words have flowed more easily. It turns out that if you spend time zoning out it’s easier to focus in on what’s important. A valuable lesson.?

A win. ??

For the last 6 months I’ve had a consistent morning practice. A personal ritual to help me start my day.

I won’t bore you with the details. I’ve been experimenting for years. This is the first approach that's really stuck, so I don’t think there’s a one-size-fits-all approach.

The best thing about it is that? it’s completely portable. I don’t need any specific equipment. I don’t need to be in a specific place. It means wherever I happen to be, I give myself the best possible chance of starting the day in the best possible day. It's really come in handy in the mountains. A lovely win.

A thank you. ??

I’m reading a lot at the moment. Researching what the world’s leading experts have to say about pitching and presenting. At the beginning I tried ebooks so I could highlight and bookmark digitally. But if I’m honest I missed the feel of turning the pages.?

Recently I’ve discovered World Of Books. You get second hand copies for a fraction of the price of new. They’re even a certified BCorp. Saving money and saving the planet!? I probably shouldn’t be sharing the details as an author but to be honest I love the fact that books are getting a second life and not collecting dust on the shelf.?

On loads of titles they even have a “Buy 3, get another free” offer. You can thank me later. In the meantime thank you WOB!

I hope this was useful in some way.
