The Sunday Getaway - 15 09 2024 - Lazy Sundays

Sundays are a bliss. The quiet morning in the streets wherever you are, the crisp wide paper with the news and alongside it a pack of magazines and coffee, the long strolls in search of art, food or just friends. Yes, they may also have?this bittersweet vibe to them (think of the dreaded school Mondays, the end of a week-long vacation or the beginning of a busy week) but they always mark my calendar joyfully so.

A brisk run

Hitting the road early, especially when joining friends, takes off your Sunday at another level. Roaming the streets of Athens emptied from cars and other noise is such a refreshing feeling. There are pockets of green you can find as you whizz up the hill to Kifissia that will travel your sight and mind and get your adrenaline going. And I'm sure this can be the case in cities like London, New York and Paris.

A new start

If you rather start your day in a more relaxing manner, cue up a downtempo yet inspiring playlist (you can finds ours at mnaome.com) and serve yourself an ice-cold coffee. Books, magazines or the Sunday read are the perfect match. It's new day and a new week (yes, the week starts on Sundays, everybody knows that) so now is the time to start planning about that new project you're always too busy to ponder on.

A lazy afternoon

Back in my London days, I used to host a weekly radio show called Lazy Sundays. A couple of hours devoted to connecting with friends around the world through music. Sunday is the perfect occasion for catching that gallery or show you always wanted to go. Or simply meeting with friends and family you haven't see in a while.
