Do you get that Sunday feeling?
You've had a great weekend with those you love. You've played hard and worked hard. And now, you do just one quick login to your work email so you're ready for Monday.
Bam.
It goes away.
Dread fills you for the next day. You forgot to do what you'd promised yourself you'd do- or the team- and well, now. It's late. On Sunday.
What do you do?
Too often, the people I coach and work with say that this is their biggest motivator for wanting to do something different. They want to feel happy (I know as trite as it sounds) when they show up to work on Monday. They want to lose that Monday dread.
But, how?
Some clients think it's an external shift. It could be a long-buried dream to start a business. It could be a change of position. It could be more money. A different team. A different organization.
But often, it's more than that- something deeper that needs to shift before that feeling is a joyful one. And so we sit down to explore their key values, vision, and professional direction first, before changing tact, to set the roadmap straight.
Then, it's often easy to take a very apparent path to lose that Monday dread. And all of a sudden, it's a happy feeling.
What about you? What's your Sunday feeling?
