Next Treks for Vets trip: May 16–19

We are now accepting applications for Treks for Vets. Treks for Vets is back, and our next trip is May 16–19. Based on the principles of wilderness therapy, the program enhances mental, physical, spiritual and emotional health by weaving together eco-psychology, philosophical discussions, physical challenges and camaraderie. We provide our participants with an edited volume of preselected readings that add content and context to both the wilderness experience and the transition from military service to civilian life.

This program is a collaboration between PTVC and the Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement.

Register for Treks for Vets. Please note that you must be logged in to My ASU to access the application. Space is limited, so apply soon. In-person and online students are welcome. The application deadline for in-person is April 25, 2025, and online is April 4, 2025.

Updates from the PTVC School Certifying Officials team

TA voucher submission changes

Effective for the spring B session, students using Tuition Assistance benefits must submit their TA authorization vouchers through the Pat Tillman Veterans Center forms website.

Follow these steps:

  1. Select “Tuition Assistance (TA) Voucher Upload” under “Forms for Active Duty/Guard/Reserves.”
  2. Select the correct term and upload your form.

Please note that TA authorization vouchers submitted to sponsorbilling@asu.edu will no longer be reviewed and processed.

Submit your TA vouchers as soon as your schedule is set to speed up the reflection of benefits on your ASU student account. Early submissions will also help you receive any remaining financial aid faster. Eligible online undergraduate students must submit a TA voucher to receive the ASU Military Active Duty and Reservist Commitment Scholarship (MRS), which will post within two weeks of your TA benefits.

If you have questions about how your TA benefits will appear on your ASU student account, contact us at sponsorbilling@asu.edu.

Tuition and fees 100% refund deadlines

Know your refund deadlines! Before and including each session’s refund deadline date, tuition and specific registration fees are subject to a 100% refund. After this date, tuition and fees are nonrefundable, and students must pay that session’s class charges despite any withdrawals. Certain registration fees are nonrefundable on or after the first day of the semester. For additional information, please see the tuition refund policy.

Military Active Duty and Reservist Commitment Scholarship

Undergraduate online TA students qualify for the ASU’s Military Active Duty and Reservist Commitment Scholarship (MRS). It is automatically applied once TA funds are received. MRS covers the portion of tuition that TA funds do not cover. However, recipients will have an out-of-pocket expense for the nominal mandatory fees.

Full-time status information

ASU and the VA have different definitions of full-time status. To assist you in registering for classes with your advisor, we have added a quick reference to ASU's main terms on our website. You can find this information under the Benefits tab on the PTVC website.

The two-step certification explained

PTVC certifies in a two-step process, implemented in August 2021 under VA guidance.

  • Step 1: ASU certifies your credits only, with no tuition or fees reported.
  • Step 2: Tuition and fees are reported after the 100% refund deadline for your enrolled sessions, which you can find on ASU’s academic calendar.

VA processing times vary, but payments are typically posted two to three weeks after ASU receives the VA payment, following a review for accuracy.

Please be aware that once we certify your enrollment to the VA, it may take up to 24 hours for it to reflect in the VA’s system.
