Sun Blanket, Adventure, God’s Message, and You

6:45 a.m. and the sun is wrapping the world like a blanket. The sunrise this morning was just amazing. I am again stunned by the beauty of our planet.
We took a day for ourselves yesterday; we had no agenda, we had no plans. We just let the day play as the day was to play. We hung out at home doing adult stuff and then headed to Evergreen to watch the Ball State and Notre Dame Football game.
We watched the first half at Cactus Jacks and then headed back closer to home to watch the second half. My Alma Matter played well, kept it close and will be able to build on that experience the rest of the year.
As the game was winding down the U.S. Open was on another T.V. We watched as Serena blew up and then went on to complain about how she is fighting for women’s rights, and there was a hint that she thought her loss was due to sexism. Serena, “when you win, say nothing and when you lose, say less.”
We’re flying back home to Indiana in a few hours; we will soon pack it up at our mountain home, we will head to the condo to drop off our stuff and then grab our laptop bags and head to the airport.
We will be home by 5:30, we will relax, love on our cats, and get ready for another busy week. Our team is started to gel, we have some policies and procedures that need to be tweaked, but that is a constant battle we face, how do you keep growing and keep your policies and procedures in line with your growth. It’s a good story problem, one we work on daily. If you are not evolving, you are devolving; we must evolve to continue our success.
It’s Sunday morning, the day of our Lord, I’m doing church 8232 feet above sea level. My Queen is in bed doing church, the church is not just a building with a cross, and the church can be anywhere you want or need it to be. I’ve spoken to our Lord this morning; she said to tell you “Hi and to stop taking yourselves so damn serious.” I’m merely the messenger, if you have an issue, give her a ring.
I’m starting a new book today; it’s a book by a man named Jordan Peterson. It’s 12 rules for life, I’m not a big rule guy, but I like Peterson and think the book will be good for me at this point in my life. I need to get to work on my next adventure.
What is your next adventure? What are you doing to make sure your life is not some boring routine lived day to day sucking the life from your very soul? What is on the horizon that gets your juices flowing? What is one dream you are currently working on that will soon become a reality? I honestly believe if you can dream it, you can do it. Dream today, you won’t’ be sorry.
I’ve got a few friends that are starting to take some chips off the table. They are tired and ready to move on. They are exhausted and need a reprieve. I think about these men and women and wonder what is next in their life. They have worked hard to build their life; they are taking some time to rethink their next moves. It’s fun to see success, and the fruits of one’s labor pay off at an early age.
For us, we plan on kicking it for many years. If you wake up every day and truly enjoy your life, why change? Why not continue plugging away, making an impact on your community and growing your dream company?
I’m the most blessed man you will read today. I am lucky; I am in love, I am confident in my chosen path. I’m keeping my demons at bay, it’s tricky, but I’ve got them locked in a box, they are knocking hard, but I can keep them at bay for many years. If you don’t acknowledge your demons, you open yourself up to your head spinning around, and you’re puking your vile nature all over your friends and family. Find your demons and lock those bastards up.
On that note, I’ll say goodbye, good morning, and I look forward to seeing you soon. If I don’t see you, I’m sending positive energy to you and every other person that takes the time to read this rubbish. It’s rubbish you know, my thoughts, my ideas, but I think that once a day my words hit another human and I’m helping them move from where they are to where they want to be. Join me in changing the world for the positive.
