The Sun also Rises - Again! - Part 1
In the stupor of our technological idolatry and our superficial?role/goal confusion regarding wealth, America stands divorced from its foundational principles.?
Art, film and new profiles in courage have arisen to remind us of these principles:
American Evolution?and a Little History?
Fast Forward?
The greatness of our American evolution is a revolution from European history. This history is summarized by Bertolt Brecht with?War is like Love, it always finds a way. America asserts the opposite - that Love is like War- it always finds a way:
This history is also recounted by Dr. Albert Schweitzer in his Nobel Prize acceptance speech - a history of war and its increasing horrors and its threat to human existence.?
This history is reversed by that of America - where George Washington hung up his sword and war robe before assuming the role of American President - in order to distinguish his role from that of European dictatorship, its horrors, its chaos, its religious massacres.

Update
The memorable words of Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address depicted in?Saving Private Ryan-and with Ross Katz's Taking Chance:
to convey our nation’s reverence for the sacrifice of those who gave their lives to preserve Democracy.?
Nothing more movingly represents this sacrifice than John Williams’?Hymn to the Fallen?and its accompanying video, music and the theme to?Band of Brothers, a series that a woman veteran soldier of the IDF described to me as the most realistic scenes of battle she had ever seen.?
Today
Today, Democracy is poorly marketed. In fact, luxury goods are more effectively marketed in our global society than is Democracy:
Perhaps we should recruit Bernard Arnault - the inspired chairman of LVMH:
to market our Democracy to the world - and to remind the world that Texas once saved France.?
