Welcome to the Friday 5x5


Sums are Sexy.

Bold claim I know but let me explain.


Every found your self falling head over heels with a sum?

You haven’t?

Okay well you’ll love this one.


I’ve got a beautiful little brain-teaser for you. I’ll get to that in a minute but first let me ask you this:


Q: “What’s in a name?”


I just had some new business cards printed which I was feeling particularly frothy about until Mum said:


“Why do you keep changing who you are?”


I mean fair. I could have answered:


“Evolution, my dear watson” or

“ADHD maybs?”

“LOLs?”


But actually the answer is: refining.


There is power in a name and there is power in a brand.


My name means Enthusiasm which feels pretty much on brand.

Enthusiasm comes from En Theos which means In God.

AKA I am full of God.

I’ll take it.


I’ve also recently been refining my messaging to be really clear on who I am and what I’m about.


Here enters the sum.


SAFETY WARNING: You may want to sit down because the excitment of solving this could overwhelm you both emotionally and physically.


This sum will also potentially be more worthwhile to you than an MBA, a corporate retainer or all the proverbial tea in China.

Got a pen and paper?

Calculator?

Wet wipes?

Here goes.


The most important formula for you to solve in business is this:


H+P=$


Solve for H and P.


I’ll have a quick sip of coffee while you work it out.


*slurps*


Oh you need more context? Sure.


H = Hero

P = Problem

$ = Financial Freedom. Think you Laughing all the way to the bank.


Still not clear? Okay let me break it down for you.


The most important equation to solve to make good money, to live well and do good as an entrepreneur and to do good is this.


HERO (Who do you Serve?)

- Business is not about you - it’s about the hero - it’s about the customer

- Who is this hero? How well do you know them? Where are they?

- Become fanatically focussed on that.


Here is my HERO: I serve people who are in business for God, or for Good: They want to make money and make a difference.


PROBLEM (What is their problem?)

- What is the burning need you solve for customers?

- It’s not about your product or service - it’s about giving them what they want.

Here is the PROBLEM: They are captive. Captive to cash flow. Captive to crazy hours. Captive to unfulfilling work.


$$$$ (What is your revenue model?)

- Get the above straight and money often follows

- Just make sure you have an offer they would feel stupid saying no to.

- Then turn it into recurring revenue - that’s where true freedom lies.


Here is my $$$$ model: I get paid to help people monetise their skills and transform them into peaceful, predictable profits aka recurring revenue.


I’ve got this clarified on my business cards now so Mum has one to add to her collection ??


If you feel you want to LOVE what you are doing…

If you want business to feel way more stimulating…

If you feel like you’re wasting, time + energy + money...


...it’s likely you need to re-look at this sexy little equation:


H + P = $

Hero + Problem = Financial Freedom

* Standardise around a single offering - freedom = specialisation.

#1 -?Outsourcing - The cleaner was just in, it feels such a privilege to have someone do the things I hate plus it frees up my headspace.

#2 - Incidential Moments - I get to pop in to my Mum every other day for a kiss on the cheek and quick coffee. That is worth everything.
