Summer parties?
This summer, some organisations have been volunteering to put on parties for the women and children who use our services. It’s a great way of supporting survivors and engaging directly with the community to celebrate and spread joy. Read what one volunteer had to say about the experience:?
“A huge thank you for giving us the privilege of helping at the South London Service Users’ Party. We had a great day – it all seemed to go so well, our team really enjoyed the day, found it rewarding, educational and very humbling.?We all gained a new skill in setting up a big marquee!”?

What the new Government should do to tackle women’s homelessness
?Women are under-represented in rough sleeping statistics and provision, yet research, lived experience and the experiences of services tell us that women are some of the most vulnerable within the rough sleeping population. The census aims to reach these women and paint a more accurate picture of their experience, allowing us to advocate for safer and improved services to support women to exit homelessness.??
Yesterday,?we sent a letter, supported by 47 organisations, networks and local authorities from across England, to the new Housing Secretary and ministers working on homelessness, violence against women, and health. We are calling on the?government to put women's homelessness on the agenda and tackle the systemic inequities that are further disadvantaging homeless women.
In the meantime, we are preparing for the third Women’s Rough Sleeping Census, this year taking place in over 50 local authorities across England, from?the 23rd to 29th September. Thank you to everyone who has supported this, including the many women who give their time to us for the census.?
