Summertime Reflections
Sunflowers always remind me of late Summer. Right when September begins, but before you put the flip flops away.

Summertime Reflections

As I get my daughter ready for her first day of 1st Grade, I'm reflecting back on our summer together.

I spent the last 2 months of the summer completely unlike any other summers in my adult working life. I had a much needed break. Even though it was not planned, it came just at the right time. So much was going on in life and I had let things get in the way of my health, and sleep, and family. It let me take a step back and really focus on what I needed to do. Which was get my ducks in a row. I had lost my spark, and my fire. And after a horrible experience with having Covid, I had also lost any kind of daring or exciting bone in my body. But guess what. You know how Stella got her Groove back? So did I. If you know me, you know I love lists. Here are a few things I did:

  1. Started Gardening again ??
  2. Got more sleep ??
  3. Got more sunshine ??
  4. Spent more time with friends & family ??
  5. Talked on the phone more ??
  6. Scheduled all of my doctors appointments ???
  7. Took a 2 week family vacation and another shorter vacation ???
  8. Finally saw Duran Duran in concert ??
  9. Took an Art class with a friend ??
  10. Visited farms during the week ??
  11. Was available to help when people needed me ????
  12. Worked on my networking group ??
  13. Had more creative ideas ??
  14. Had time to read ??
  15. Had time to myself ???
  16. Enjoyed nature thoroughly ??
  17. Started a new seashell hobby ??
  18. Started a healthier lifestyle ??
  19. Visited new places ??
  20. Tried new things ??
  21. Learned more about myself ??

All in all, I would say a pretty darn fantastic summer. 10/10 I would highly recommend. If you ever get the chance to take a career break, it is definitely good for the soul.

Cheers,

Markella
