Summer'23 Internship at Bristlecone

As an enthusiastic data analyst, I was filled with both excitement and nerves when I secured an internship at Bristlecone, a leading provider of AI-powered application transformation services for the digital supply chain. Little did I know that this experience would not only be a stepping stone in my career but also a transformative journey that expanded my knowledge, honed my skills, and provided me with invaluable hands-on experience in the world of data analytics.

From day one, I was warmly welcomed by the Bristlecone team, and they ensured that I had all the resources and support I needed to thrive in my role. My initial days were dedicated to getting acquainted with the company's data infrastructure, understanding the various tools and technologies they employed, and familiarizing myself with the ongoing projects.

Before long, I was entrusted with my first project – using IOT devices and shipment data to identify bottlenecks, optimize routes and improve overall supply chain efficiency. Additionally, I was assigned the task of devising new use-cases for the IOT devices to present them to clients. Collaborating with a team of experienced analysts, I was given the opportunity to work on real-world datasets, which allowed me to apply the knowledge I had gained in my academic journey. The sense of responsibility and ownership of the project instilled in me a desire to excel, pushing me to think critically and creatively when tackling complex data challenges.

Throughout my internship, I had the privilege of being mentored by subject matter experts and amazing leaders - Shipra Sharma, Kiran Saindane, Vaibhav Nanasaheb Keskar and Sagar Dixit. Their guidance and insights were instrumental in helping me navigate complex data challenges and refining my analytical approach. Their career journey also inspired me to explore diverse career paths within the field of supply chain analytics. I am also grateful to my onboarding ambassador Akshai Seshadri a UTD alumni, who guided me and helped me acclimatize myself to Bristlecone’s culture. His wealth of knowledge and expertise not only helped me develop technical skills but also provided insights into industry's best practices and the art of storytelling with data.

Overall, my internship experience as a Data Exploration Intern at Bristlecone was a remarkable journey of learning, growth, and self-discovery. I not only deepened my understanding of data analytics but also learned the significance of teamwork, communication, and adaptability in this fast-paced industry. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Bristlecone family and excited to apply the skills and knowledge I have acquired to make a meaningful impact in the world of data analytics.
