Summer Update Szn ??

After 10 years of making connections, working hard, and experiencing amazing success with the team, our Operations Director, Cathryn Folkestad "Catbo", has a few words to share.

FRIENDS,

I started my journey with Conscious Alliance 10 years ago this past April. Each year, I am consistently blown away by our progress - we’ve already delivered 1,212,672 meals in 2023, and we still have six months to go! Looking back at the last decade, I still can’t believe the amount of growth I’ve experienced both within and outside this fantastic organization.?For me, it all started in the first few months, when a small grassroots team, including myself, four staffers, and two interns, helped install a learning garden at the Pine Ridge School. I didn’t realize it then, but my first service trip and this project would lay the groundwork (pun intended) for the work I’d be doing to build a strong team and even stronger bonds within our organization for years to come.

10 YEARS LATER WE'VE BEEN TURNING YOUR PASSION INTO ACTION

With you by our side, we are doing amazing work. Here are a few of our recent program accomplishments:

1. Thanks to you, winter was less harsh for those facing food insecurity. During our 2022 End of Year campaign, you collectively donated $264,718, which allowed us to distribute 972,725 meals from November through February.
2. In April, we co-hosted an event with Discover and gave out 2,500 hams, grocery gift cards, and hot meals to families on the South Side of Chicago.
3. So far this year, we have distributed over $5 million worth of essential goods, such as laundry detergent, soaps, deodorants, jackets, as well as home exercise equipment.
4. And just last month, we delivered our 12,000,000th (that’s TWELVE MILLIONTH!) meal since we began in 2002.
