Hey everyone, I hope all of you had an excellent weekend and 4th of July. Like many, I decided to turn this into a 4-day weekend, stepping back from my usual routine to savor the fireworks, cookouts, and some quality me-time, free from distractions on Saturday night and Sunday morning. There's something magical about taking a moment to truly relax and live in the present. Life is wonderful when you embrace it with gratitude—a mindset, a lifestyle, and an intentional commitment.
The beauty of the past weekend lies in its simplicity and freedom. You could do whatever you wanted with it. It epitomized summer with its vibe of family, friends, getaways, or staycations. It was informal yet communal, a time when the village came to life without the constraints of timelines, formalities, schedules, or scrutiny.
But, let’s be honest, getting back to the Monday morning routine after such a relaxing break is tough. This weekend was smooth, but there were times when I felt I needed a vacation from my vacation. So, I decided to outsmart the post-vacation blues by turning my 4-day weekend into a 5-day one, putting in my PTO request for Monday. It was a fantastic decision, giving me that extra day to rest up and mentally prepare for the week ahead, effectively transforming the following week into a manageable 4-day workweek. Win-win, right?
Now, getting back into the swing of things after a break can be challenging. So, here are the top 10 things employees should do to catch up strategically:
