Summer of Synergies, Part 1

Welcome to Data Center Digest, your go-to source for the latest updates, trends, and insights in the data center industry. Designed for busy professionals like you, this newsletter provides a concise summary of the most important developments, ensuring you stay informed in just five minutes. Let's dive in!

WHEN IN ROME

Last month, our CTO Scott Brookshire had the opportunity to present at #srexperts23 in Rome. His talk showcased how Nokia’s SRX platform plays a key role in service delivery for OpenColo customers. Highlighting the benefits of Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) in new customer deployments, and how it can help deploy configurations at scale. Reducing overall deployment times from days to mere minutes.

THE ROLE OF AI IN DATA CENTER OPS

During the event, Nokia also made a significant announcement that ChatGPT will be implemented natively on their SRxs. This move is expected to revolutionize the way we configure and operate switches. Through Natural Language Processing (NLP), we will not only be able to configure switches, but also obtain status and make changes.

“In a typical network, data is collected through multiple platforms from countless sources including faults and alarms, counters, KPIs, configuration and parameters, topology, and more. A typical care engineer spends on average more than two hours per day searching and processing the information. Nokia Digital Assistant is trained to understand and respond to a wide range of queries written in natural language, whether help is required with a specific alarm or to learn more about the network. It parses the network data and comes up with the right information 40% faster than a human engineer.” - Deepak Harie, VP of Technical Support, Nokia

The implications are immense and it is important that we start discussing the role of AI as a co-pilot in data center operations. The integration of AI has the potential to revolutionize how networks are managed and bring a new era of operational efficiency.

SUMMER SYNERGY SERIES

We kicked off our annual networking event series at our facilities, Summer Synergy. We were honored to host industry professionals from data centers, networking, and cloud professionals in the local Silicon Valley ecosystem. Thank you to 诺基亚 and Hula Networks as our co-sponsors, their support made this event possible. The turnout was fantastic, with attendees ranging from startups to semiconductors, and service providers. Our team worked hard to ensure that the event was a success, and we are already planning the next event to continue fostering collaboration within this tech community.

“What was once meticulously planned and budgeted on-premises, is now unpredictable.”

To address these market demands, we are proud to announce the rollout of our new Opencolo Object Storage solution, in partnership with Platina Systems . Enterprise clients can now deploy enterprise-grade object storage clusters in the 100s of Petabytes while simultaneously leveraging Cloud Onramps. It is a fully managed service, with flat-rate pricing and no hidden fees or egress charges. This allows for flexibility and performance while providing a predictable cost model for enterprise customers.??
