"A Story of Survival: Exceptional Care at Saudi German Hospital"

Mr. Saif, a 19-year-old, was admitted to our Emergency Department following a high-speed car accident. He was unconscious and in shock. After initial resuscitation and stabilization, a trauma survey and CT screening were performed, revealing intra-abdominal bleeding and a collapsed lung and occluded left renal artery.

Given the severity of his condition, an immediate decision was made to take him to the operating theatre for abdominal exploration to save his life. the team managed to stop the bleeding and send the patient on an urgent basis to cathlap where our interventional radiologist canalized and stented the right renal artery, the patient was transferred back to OT to complete the surgery.

The surgical procedure involved a partial pancreatectomy, splenectomy, resection, and anastomosis of a portion of the intestine,

Following this major surgery, the patient was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to the need for meticulous adjustments of high parameters of mechanical ventilation. the next day, upper GI bleeding developed. Therefore, it was decided to return the patient to the operating theatre for another major surgery, which lasted three hours and successfully controlled the stomach bleeding. Subsequently, the patient was transferred back to the ICU.

Close monitoring and meticulous treatment were provided to manage his critical condition. Over time, Mr. Saif began to improve, and we are pleased to report that he has now returned to a normal life with his family.

Saudi German Hospital Dubai (SGHD) demonstrated its dedication to the community through a series of remarkable events. The Saudi German Women and Children Hospital created a magical day of fun for children, featuring face painting, balloon bending, and an enchanting magic show, leaving 50+ kids with beautiful memories. Likewise, the Saudi German DAMAC HILLS 1 Clinic enchanted 50+ kids with similar activities while also offering complementary health screenings.

We organized a health screening event for Al Maktoum Airport Staff, providing services such as general health check-ups, GP consultations, and optometry check-ups, with an impressive attendance of 150+.

Furthermore, the hospital organized a stimulating chess competition at the Saudi German Woman and Children Hospital, bringing together 25+ participants for friendly competition and fostering a sense of community. These events exemplify Saudi German Hospital's commitment to providing exceptional medical care while engaging with the community and promoting overall health and well-being.
