A Summer Sojourn to Cambridge and Caesar's Land -1: Introduction
This is my latest travelogue, and as always, it begins with a personal story. This journey was undertaken in the shadow of a recent loss—the passing of my dear friend and soulmate from Kochi. She was my constant travel companion, finding joy in our adventures even when her health faltered. Her little notes and quiet support were a treasure. But this trip held an extra layer of meaning. It wasn't just about seeing new places but also about celebrating a milestone. Our first grandson had graduated from Cambridge University with a B.A. in Economics, and we were there to witness his achievement, to offer our blessings, and to honour the memory of his grandmother who had raised him until he was three and a half. Even though she's gone, her love was with us. So, the first chapter is a tribute to Cambridge.
After the ceremony, we joined our daughter and son's family for a whirlwind tour of Italy—Rome, Venice, and Milan. We explored ancient Roman monuments, stood in awe of St. Peter's, gazed at the Sistine Chapel's masterpiece, and wandered the enchanting canals of Venice. The photos within these pages capture those unforgettable moments.
I welcome your thoughts and reflections, both positive and constructive, which you can share through? comments or ?email.
