Summer safety tips

Summer safety tips

We’re halfway through summer, and it’s important that safety awareness and practices don’t take a vacation.

Here are a few reminders on how to keep your teams safe this summer.

  • Although young workers now have a month or two under their belt,?training and supervision?should be an ongoing process to ensure their safety. Check in with them regularly, provide feedback and guidance and don’t shy away from re-training if it’s needed.
  • With the warmer temperatures,?heat stress?continues to be a hazard that should be monitored, and the pace of working and working conditions should be adjusted accordingly.
  • Don’t fall behind on your facility’s inspections as a result of staff vacations. Be proactive about inspections and ensure proper coverage in order to complete inspections. Digital inspection tools allow managers to?keep a pulse?on their facility’s inspection status by leveraging property dashboards and analytics.?

Yes, summer is a time for rejuvenation, time to be spent with friends and family and a time to explore the great outdoors – but safety culture shouldn’t take a vacation, and it’s something that must be reinforced each and every day…even on those nice summer days.

Stay safe out there!
