Coalition for Life Course Immunisation
Vaccination throughout life helps prevent disease and promotes health, building population resilience.
We hope you are embracing the summer and taking the time to do what you value and be with the people you care about. At a time of increased travel, people coming together and variable climate, our message of multigenerational protection could never be more important. We have been working towards our vision of a Europe where everyone, regardless of age or life stage, can be vaccinated and shield themselves from VPDs by:

?Obtaining MEP endorsement for a life course immunisation interest group
?Joining high-level meetings and advisory boards
MEP endorsement for an interest group on life course immunisation in the next European parliament.
CLCI and MEP Cyrus Engerer co-hosted a round table discussion on adult vaccination and life course immunisation at European Parliament on June 27th. The meeting brought together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss the importance of adult vaccination and the need for a comprehensive immunisation approach across different life stages. A call to action was proposed to form an MEP Interest Group on LCI, endorsed by MEPs Tomislav Sokol and Cyrus Engerer, to translate these ideas into coordinated EU-level action.

Adult Immunization Board
In April, Dr Holt co-chaired the Adult Immunization Board’s technical meeting. This board provides evidence-based guidance on key technical and strategic issues, shares relevant information with stakeholders, and monitors the progress of adult immunisation programs at various levels.

European Mission on Vaccination
In June, Dr Holt joined this multi-disciplinary thought-leadership group focusing on the vaccination decision-making process. The group aims to answer the question: How can a ‘value-based’ perspective be incorporated into vaccine decision-making?
Europe’s Tomorrow: Vaccination and Prevention Summit
In July, CLCI took part in Think Young’s summit, which spotlighted youth voices concerning vaccines and prevention, connecting the views of young people with high-level stakeholders in the healthcare industry and related policy fields.
FIP has launched a new policy toolkit
Daphne Holt joined FIP for the launch of their new policy toolkit:?Enabling life-course immunisation through pharmacy-based vaccination.
A CLCI podcast!
CLCI is producing a series of seven episodes discussing aspects of COVID-19; surveillance, prevention, building vaccine confidence, COVID in children and Long COVID, in collaboration with Global Health Press. Board members Professor Schmitt and Professor Weil-Olivier will interview experts in the field, with confirmed guests such as Emilie Karafakilis and Danny Altmann; this is set to be an influential and insightful series!

HCP focus group in France
We are excited to be working with Active Citizenship Network and producing our first in-country focus group. We have invited 10 French healthcare professionals and experts to discuss civil society's role in promoting vaccination across the life-course.

Not only were?new COVID-19 vaccines?approved by EU regulators?and social media conversations ablaze with concern about?climate?change and health, but vaccines for people of all ages were also high on the European policy agenda.?

Strengthening immunisation across the life-span - a high-level meeting under the Spanish Presidency of the EU Council
This high-level meeting was held on July 18th in Madrid and attended by representatives from various European institutions, seven EU member states, international organisations like GAVI, key vaccine industry players like Vaccines Europe and patient associations like the Asociación Espa?ola contra la Meningitis (AEM).
Spanish Health Minister Jose Manuel Mi?ones emphasised the importance of life-course vaccination, calling it a "key public health tool."

Vaccines Europe launch their 2024-2029 manifesto.
Vaccines Europe launched their new manifesto in June, urging European political parties to establish an EU Immunisation Strategy with three results: An innovative, healthy and prosperous Europe.
