Summer Internships 2020- Sage Lawson

Although many unforeseen conflicts have arose due to the Covid19 Pandemic, this summer I utilized many opportunities that came with the change we’ve all experienced.

This summer I completed 3 virtual internships with BRYJ, FCB Chicago, and finally Precision OS. Although I found myself a bit overwhelmed at times, I’ve discovered and learned more about Marketing, Account Management, and what’s really in store for me post-graduation coming 2022. 

BRYJ, Inc., utilizes intelligent document capture (OCR) to transform documents, such as health claims, into usable data. I managed to help create an ebook, overlooked webinars, and finally competitor and OCR system research. Thanks to Mike Hurley for allowing me this opportunity to expand on marketing tactics, while learning more about intelligent document capture. 

Additionally, this summer I had the incredible opportunity to be an Account Management intern for FCB Academy at FCB Chicago. Here, I worked with other detail oriented interns on different marketing and advertising campaigns. Special thanks to Sara Horev, Annie Bryan, and Kelly Graves for making this experience possible, and the many other interns I had the privilege of working with.

Finally, throughout the summer I worked as Precision OS’s Marketing Intern. PrecisionOS Technology utilizes virtual reality for surgical training outside of the OR. Although all virtual, the Precision OS team was still able to give me a valuable experience that I have learned immensely with the help from Danny P. Goel, MD, Peter Coffaro, and roberto oliveira, along with the rest of the brilliant team at Precision OS. Because of this incredible opportunity I was given at Precision OS, I was able to expand on market research, dive deeper into medical technologies, and learn hands on about sales and marketing within a corporate setting. I certainly will carry everything that I have learned at Precision OS onto my career within a marketing setting.

I want to personally thank everyone who has helped me get to the position where I am at today, and the experiences I have made this summer. With their help, I am now more confident in my career choice, and am looking forward to the road ahead.
