Summer Internship 2023 Experience at Rheem Manufacturing Company

During my internship at Rheem Manufacturing as a Product Management Intern, I had an enriching and insightful experience for 12 weeks that provided me with valuable skills and knowledge in the HVAC industry.

Throughout my internship, I worked closely with the Product Management team, contributing to three projects, and gaining hands-on experience in the entire product development lifecycle. One of the significant projects I was involved in was the launch of a new line of energy-efficient mini split air conditioning systems. I was responsible for conducting market research to identify customer needs and preferences, analyzing competitor products, and providing recommendations for product features and positioning. This project allowed me to understand the importance of customer-centricity in developing successful products and the significance of thorough market analysis.?

As part of my responsibilities, I collaborated with cross-functional teams such as engineering, marketing, and sales. This experience taught me the importance of effective communication and teamwork in achieving project goals. I learned how to navigate through different perspectives and find common ground to drive projects forward efficiently. The internship also provided me with exposure to data-driven decision-making using MS Suite, Oracle BI , AHRI portal and Rheem Technical support. I was involved in gathering and analyzing data from customer surveys and product performance metrics. Learning to interpret and utilize data to make informed decisions is a valuable skill that I will carry forward in my career. Furthermore, I participated in strategy and regulatory meetings, where I gained insights into the macro-level decision-making processes within the company. Understanding the larger context in which product management operates helped me appreciate how product strategies align with broader business goals.

One aspect of the internship that I found particularly rewarding was the mentorship and support provided by the experienced professionals in product management and product engineering domain. They encouraged me to take the initiatives and allowed me to take on more significant responsibilities as I demonstrated my abilities. Their guidance and constructive feedback were instrumental in my personal and professional growth.

Overall, my internship at Rheem Manufacturing was a transformative experience and has given me the confidence to pursue a career in product management.?
