Summer hiring event yields dozens of new hires, more still needed for upcoming season

The City of Plano Parks and Recreation Department held its second summer hiring event last weekend, attracting dozens of quality candidates as it prepares for the upcoming summer season.

Held at Carpenter Park Recreation Center on Saturday, March 4, the event offered an opportunity to meet with staff and complete the required tests to become the City of Plano’s newest lifeguards.

“We could not serve the summer recreation needs of our community without the help of our outstanding seasonal employees,” Assistant Director Susie Hergenrader said. “Summertime is synonymous with swim lessons, waterparks, day camps, and trips. We need teens, young adults, college students, adults and retirees to make those opportunities a reality.”
