We're thrilled to announce the launch of our new website! We showcase how firms can ‘stay and save’ or 'switch and save’ when it comes to cutting payment processing costs.

Our goal was to create a user-friendly and informative online presence that better serves your needs and enhances your experience with BB Merchant Services. Also, the updated website showcases the change in our brand from Bankbrokers to BB Merchant Services.

Benefit from a US Interchange Class Action

Are you a merchant with a US-based legal entity that processed card payments between 2004 and 2019? If so, you might be eligible to join the US's largest class action lawsuit against Visa and Mastercard concerning interchange fees, also known as the Payment Card Interchange Fee Settlement.

What is the US Interchange Class Action?

The US Interchange refers to the fees charged by card networks, such as Visa and Mastercard, to merchants for processing card transactions.

These fees are set by the card networks and are intended to cover the costs associated with card payment processing, fraud prevention, and other related services.

However, these fees can significantly impact merchants' overall costs, which has led to ongoing scrutiny and legal actions.

Recently, there has been a significant development regarding the US Interchange overcharging class action lawsuit against Visa and Mastercard.

This lawsuit, known as the Payment Card Interchange Fee Settlement, addresses claims that these card networks overcharged merchants for interchange fees over an extended period.

Key Points:

  • Eligibility: Merchants with a US-based legal entity who have processed card payments between 2004 and 2019 are eligible to join the lawsuit.
  • Deadline Extension: The deadline to join this class action lawsuit has been extended to August 30th. This extension provides a crucial opportunity for eligible merchants who have not yet filed a claim.
  • Risk-Free Enrolment: The class action settlement filing service is structured on a contingent fee basis, meaning there are no upfront costs. All case management costs are covered by a deduction of 25% from the eventual payout, allowing merchants to receive 75% of the proceeds.
  • Assistance Available: No-cost assistance is available from the Class Administrator and Class Counsel during the claims-filing period. Merchants do not need to sign up with any third-party service to participate in the monetary relief.

This deadline extension is a valuable opportunity for eligible merchants to seek compensation for any overcharged interchange fees. If you are a merchant with a US-based legal entity and have processed card payments during the specified period, now is the time to take action.

This gathering was a chance to share how we have been successful for our customers, reflect on our achievements, and bond as a team in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

Highlights of the London Offsite:

  • Rooftop Drinks: Following dinner, we headed to the rooftop bar at the CitizenM Tower of London Hotel. With stunning views of the city skyline, we enjoyed refreshing drinks and the vibrant atmosphere. Celebrating success is an important part of our culture.
  • London Nightlife: For those looking to continue the celebration, some team members ventured out to experience the bustling nightlife of London. It was a night filled with fun, laughter, and memorable moments.

Becky brings with her an impressive 18-year career in the financial services industry, having spent seven years at Barclays and eleven years at Barclaycard. During this time, she honed her expertise in customer service, financial management, and strategic growth, making her an invaluable addition to our team.

After taking a voluntary redundancy, Becky embraced a new path as a self-employed professional, focusing on helping people save money on their household services. Her role as an Authorised UW (Utility Warehouse) Partner allowed her to combine her passion for financial efficiency with her desire to have a positive impact on people's lives. Becky's experience in mentoring and onboarding new partners further showcases her ability to lead and inspire teams, a quality that will greatly benefit BBMS.

Tudor Humphreys

Associate Partner, BB Merchant Services

We are excited to welcome Tudor Humphreys as a new Associate Partner. Tudor brings 40 years of experience in the charity sector, forging partnerships with the NHS, local authorities, social care, and various community sectors. He has led and developed three local charities, served as an Employee Representative and Transition Manager, and supported significant organisational changes.

Tudor is passionate about workforce development, leading group coaching and action learning sets for NHS and Macmillan Cancer Information Centre managers. He has provided one-on-one coaching for key leaders in strategic health and social care partnerships across the UK.

Tudor holds an HND in Business, a BA in Informal and Community Education, a Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision, and ILM Certificates in Action Learning Set Facilitation and Coaching and Mentoring (Level 5). He has participated in two King's Fund Leadership Development Programmes and is a member of the Association for Coaching, adhering to a recognised global code of ethics.
