Summer Associate with RCA

Summer Associate with RCA

As we begin classes again in the fall, this summer gave me the amazing opportunity to apply all the skills I had learned during the previous year in practice. My internship at the Retina Consultants of America was nothing short of a phenomenal experience.

A premier organization focused on helping practices provide the best care for their patients through partnerships. In addition, RCA provides industry-leading research benefitting from ?Dr. Charles Wykoff. He currently heads the RCA research and clinical trials committee.

During my internship, I worked on multiple projects that helped hone my analytical skills and better understand the US healthcare system. The most notable was coordinating the adoption of a new data management and reporting system as the organization migrated from the current reporting system. I also learned how to effectively deal with project roadblocks and maneuver around potential issues that may delay projects. During the internship, I also used newly acquired skills by creating workflows in Alteryx to clean data and shape it into the desired format, ensuring data integrity and creating pipelines to ingest information into the new system.

One of the pleasures of working at RCA was working with the talented group of interns and professionals in the organization, which allowed me to add value and learn from them. I grew and improved significantly under my managers' guidance and learned some of the best practices from my fellow interns.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Daniel Maher , Garrett Moody , and Matt White for their guidance during the internship and for helping me grow as a professional. I am genuinely grateful for the opportunity and faith my mentors placed in me. I look forward to applying all that I have learned at UTD and RCA to excel in my career and add more value to any organization I may join.
