Sigiriya Rock Fort
The place was selected by King Kashyapa in 477 AD for his new capital. After the death of the king, this place became the Buddhist monastery. Mihintale

Mahinda was the son of great Mourya Samrat Ashoka, Ashoka has sent Mahinda to bring Buddhism to Srilanka. By climbing approximately 1840 steps tourists reach the top where the Buddha statue is present. Kaludiya Pokuna, Naga Pokuna, and Singha Pokuna are the famous ponds on the mountain. Inside it, the cave of Mahinda and Mihindu Guha also called Mahindu Bed is present.
