Summer of '67 Theatrical Release
I'm excited to announce that SUMMER OF '67 releases theatrically on June 29 at Regal Hollywood 27 in Nashville and will screen for a full week (hopefully longer if it does well)! We'll be at the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening screenings and would love to see you there.
SUMMER OF '67 is a Vietnam War love story told from the perspective of the women left behind. It's based on real events. My dad was aboard the USS Forrestal when it caught fire. Growing up I heard the stories and wondered what it must have been like for the sweethearts, wives, and mothers hearing the news but not knowing whether their loved ones were alive, injured, or killed.
I wrote SUMMER OF ’67 as an evangelistic tool. I wanted it to be a movie that would attract the attention of the Millennials and provide them a better understanding of the turbulent times during the sixties. I also wanted it to be a tribute to Veterans and their families who sacrifice much for their country. The theme of the movie is that God is with us through those times when it seems that we’re alone.
SUMMER OF '67 was filmed in Springfield, Nashville, Pleasant View, and Cedar Hill, Tennessee, and Trenton and Bowling Green, Kentucky.
