Summary of an article titled “What is business process management? The key to enterprise agility

Business process management is the act of discovering and controlling an organization's processes to align them with the company's goals as it grows. BPM software aids organisations in defining the steps required to complete a business task, mapping definitions to existing processes, and then streamlining or improving processes to increase efficiency. BPM is sometimes alternately called business process improvement, business process re-engineering, continual improvement process, or process improvement.

Because businesses are dynamic, their objectives and processes are constantly changing. As a result, business process management should be viewed as a continuous process rather than a one-time event, prompting some to suggest that the term "business process improvement" be used instead. What is process improvement? Process improvement is involving the business practice of identifying, analysing and improving existing business processes to optimize performance, meet best practice standards or simply improve quality and the user experience for customers and end-users.

There are many BPM tools ?as stated in the article that benefits organization with a systematic approach to manage and optimize their business processes. For example, some top BPM tools includes Agiloft, Appian, Bizagi, Bonitasoft, Oracle and Software AG. These software helps organization to design, model, implement and measure workflows and business rules. The core capabilities include workflow management, business rules engine, form generator, collaboration, analytics and integrations.

Business process management (BPM), business process improvement (BPI), business process re-engineering, and continual improvement process (CIP) are some of the terms used to describe process improvement. Whatever name they go by, they all have the same goal: to reduce errors, waste, increase productivity, and streamline efficiency. There are 3 goals of BPM which are to help the organization minimize errors, reduce waste, and improve productivity and efficiency. Clarity on strategic direction, alignment of the firm’s resources and increased discipline in daily operations are the outcomes that organization should focus on.

The company can only be flexible, efficient, and fast as the performance of its business processes allows. The problems are many companies create business processes by isolating themselves from other collaborative processes, or worse, they do not "improve" business processes at all. In many cases, processes simply exist “as a matter of course,” or because software programs are compulsory. As a result, many companies are disrupted by their processes, and will continue to do so until those processes are improved.

Robotic process automation (RPA) also mentioned in the article. RPA basically is a technology application, controlled by the business mindset and programmed inputs, aimed at automating business processes. This type of automation employs rule-based software to carry out high-volume business process activities, freeing up human resources to focus on more complex tasks. CIOs and other decision-makers can use RPA to speed up their digital transformation efforts and get a better return on investment (ROI) from their employees. For RPA tools in the marketplace to remain competitive, they will need to move beyond task automation and expand their offerings to include intelligent automation (IA). This type of automation expands on RPA functionality by incorporating sub-disciplines of artificial intelligence, like machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. ?

??????????? In conclusion, BPM is beneficial to the organisations that use it. Business processes, as we all know, are extremely important and significant to almost every company. They are the blueprints for all types of business functions, allowing different parts of the company to collaborate and interact with suppliers and customers.”
