The sum of the parts

One of my favourite expressions is “if you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go with others”. I attended my first (of what I hope to be many) Madison Conferences last week. The entire program had us sharing the wisdom of #thesumoftheparts, a true Madison ethos. I came away reimagining what’s possible and am very excited about the future of our profession. Kaila Colbin, Singularity Aust & NZ, opened our conference with insights from the edge of exponential change. If you aren’t following Singularity University, you should be. This set the tone for day one where the lineup of world class speakers across industry shared their expertise and experience on our dynamically changing world, culminating in a thought provoking session from Tiago Mattos on the workplace of the future. Bringing it together and sharing what it means for our industry and profession were Matt Symons, Dante De Gori, and Nicholas Ali. The day closed with everyone questioning assumptions, and challenging the future of our profession.

Day 2 was equally remarkable with Jules Allen reminding us of the difference we can make by helping others through empathy and acceptance. The day continued with the Madison community working together to rethink the delivery of advice, focus on strategy and share business models. I wasn’t sure what to expect for my first conference, and I feel very fortunate to be part of this amazing community. A huge thank you to Cass Boyle for having the courage to design a program that will transform the way we think. I’d also like to acknowledge the Madison team for working tirelessly to ensure the conference was executed well. To our adviser community, thank you for embracing a challenging education program and for making me feel so welcome. To our speakers Jason McSpeerin, Nicholas Ali, Peter Mullens, James Purvis, Hamish Fitzgibbons, Jason Huljich, Renny Ellis, Sue Laing, Marc Fabris, Niall McConville, Neil Borthwick, Katie Whiffen, Kyle Lidbury, Steve Browning & Anne Graham, thank you for sharing your knowledge to help us execute our Conference vision. Finally, special thanks to Ben Moore, our MC for the event. We truly appreciate your hours of preparation and the many conversations during the year. Your facilitation was impeccable, professional, witty and respectful. #extraordinaryadvicebusinesses #excellentclientoutcomes @MadisonFG

Congratulations Annick and the Madison team for a wonderful conference. Thinking more about creating the future, than preserving the past, was a clear message for everyone. With exponential change taking place right now, understanding what we need to consider for 20/20 foresight is irrefutable! Thanks again for the opportunity to work with your awesome community.
