Sulzer Chemtech’s technology transforming refineries

A major American refiner has selected Sulzer Chemtech’s advanced dividing wall column licensed technology, known as GT-DWC, to boost the efficiency and environmental performance of its refinery in a western state of the U.S. The project attests to Sulzer Chemtech’s proven track record of supporting customers with processing solutions of any scale that drive sustainability and profitability.?

The project will deliver one single divided wall column added to the existing alkylation unit to avoid building two towers. The new setup will feature high capacity and provide superior separation for downstream operations.??

GT-DWC significantly reduces energy consumption, capital required, operational costs, and a smaller environmental and manufacturing footprint compared to the conventional two-column system, ultimately leading to quick payback. With feasibility studies and engineering works completed, Sulzer Chemtech’s specialists will now support the unit’s start up and process guarantees.?
