Suicide of Young Girls by Pandemic...
1) Suicide by Pandemic. Pandemic has a lasting impact on humanity… Suicide attempts increased among adolescents aged 12 to 17, especially young girls, during the Covid-19 pandemic, according to CDC data. Average weekly visits to the emergency department for suspected suicide attempts from February 2021 to March 2021 was 50.6% higher than the same period a year prior. The real number of suspected suicide attempts may be higher because Americans were hesitant to go to hospitals during the pandemic, in fear of contracting Covid-19. The disruption of daily life, pandemic lockdowns, and social distancing orders may have contributed to the rise in suicide attempts. In adolescent girls, average weekly visits to the emergency department for suspected suicide attempts from February 2021 to March 2021 jumped by 50.6% from the same time period during the prior year. Suspected suicide attempts are often higher among young girls than young boys, but in this study, the difference was more pronounced than prior studies, due to the pandemic. The increase in suspected suicide attempts by young people could be attributed to social distancing, including a lack of connection to schools, teachers, and friends. Other factors could include barriers to mental health treatment, an increase in substance abuse, and anxiety about the health and economic state of the family at home.

2) G-7. Leaders of the Group of Seven, the most influential and advanced economy, which includes the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the USA are in sync on placing a global minimum tax of at least 15% on large companies. A minimum tax is supposed to halt an international race to the bottom for corporate taxation that has led multinational businesses to book their profits in countries with low tax rates. This enables them to avoid taxes and encourages countries to slash rates. Biden might have persuaded some of the world's largest economies to hike taxes on corporations, but the U.S. Congress could be a far tougher sell. And, G-7 is seeking an effective strategy to stem the pandemic disaster and vaccinating the world. The issues of climate change will be bantered around… And, the G7 joins hands to counter China on global aggression, pandemic, human rights violations, and territorial disputes... Well, leaders will talk and agree to many issues facing the world, but the actionable changes may not come easily… BTW, looking forward to Biden and Putin's meeting… Remember Biden called Putin a killer. Hmmm.
3) China prepares for war. China has been preparing for war with the West for a while. Now, Xi Jinping asks troops to focus on preparing for war as Taiwan response quickly and resolutely. How will the world react if China really assaults Taiwan? 'Prepare for War,' China Military Warns in New Propaganda Poster for Taiwan. The Chinese military has released a flurry of pictures and videos showing battle-ready troops in training exercises as part of a new propaganda drive aimed at Taiwan. Articles published by the information arm of the People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) 80th Group Army carried stark warnings for "splittists" and a poster reading "prepare for war." The campaign material was widely shared on Wednesday by users on China's popular social media services Weibo and WeChat. And, there are ongoing issues of the South China Sea, disputes, Uyghur, Russia, and global hatred toward Chinese for pandemic disasters… Not surprised China is getting ready for a war. Will there be a war? Hmmm.

3 年The Chinese military on Tuesday reportedly sent 28 aircraft, including nuclear-capable bombers and J-16 fighters, into Taiwan's air defense identification zone (ADIZ), marking the largest recent show of force by Beijing in the region. Taiwanese aircraft were dispatched to confront or warn away the large show of military force into Taiwan, which comes as U.S. Navy aircraft carriers including the Japan-based U.S.S. Ronald Reagan entered the disputed South China Sea.
