Sudan's Instability is Stems of Long-Overdue Identity Politics and Ideological Befuddlement

The Republic of Sudan is viewed as a ship without an anchor following Omar Hassan al-Bashir's ouster. Sudan is in disarray as the Prime Minister is detained by the military wing of the coalition government; by implication, the de facto hybrid civilian-military transition is collapsed. Over the past half a century, Sudan has been suffering from one military coup to the other. As the result of identity and religious conflicts, the country has been through decades of civil war with non-Muslim southerners and resulted by secession; similarly, Darfur and Eastern Sudan remain volatile parts of the country.

The slogan of the Sudanese Revolution, "Freedom, peace, and justice," reflects their victory over thirty years of persecution and unjust by the military junta brought another face of military outrage. As a result of the civilian protest, negotiations have culminated in a transitional political system with sovereign, legislative, and executive institutions that make these goals a reality for Sudanese citizens. However, the country has been in a dismal transition pulled by foreign actors right and left for the past two years. Failure of the transitional administration has left it with empty coffers and squandered resources, leaving it little room to manoeuvre. Besides, the two wings of transitional government were in a pule and pushed to extend their limited mandate of three years by demonstrating who is more beautiful than the other.

Fundamentally, the Suddenness politics has been suffered due to confused identity politics, absence of ideological centre and exposition of external manoeuvring. First Sudan means the land of Black people; in other words, a home of Africans to the contrary consecutively Sudanese government was imposing mislead overtone of Arabism without discrimination. Additionally, adopting Theocracy as a method of governance deprived Sudanese of their liberty to exercise democratic rights and freedom of expression in whatever manner they deemed proper. It appears that the leadership has bowed to western government influence after decades of sanctioned rule, surrendering all public goods to serve as a Trojan horse for their endless wish list. The surrender is also applied equally to the Gulf States and neighbouring countries with whom Sudan should forge an alliance based on temporary political gain rather than long term principles. This appears to be the primary distinction between the military and civilian governments on who should be an ally of whom and vice versa, rather than the public interest. Sudanese political turpitude stems from divisive identity politics and ideological incompetence. It has also had a detrimental impact that there is no strong political party and charismatic leadership. To this end, we make an appeal to all parties involved, emphasising that the Sudanese people deserve a better political environment. ?

?We call upon Sudan's military wing to reconstitute the civilian wing, stop rifts, and focus on bringing peace and tranquillity with civility. Political rivalry between civilians and military personnel poses grave hazards that no Sudanese citizen wishes to witness. Sudan's turmoil will have a repellent effect on the Horn of Africa and the African continent. The confrontation must conclude in favour of the Sudanese people's wishes and within the time constraints of the transition phase; any delay jeopardises the democratisation process and breeds mistrust among the Sudanese populace. The transition government should allocate resources to restitution, relocation, demobilisation, and reintegration of Sudanese legitimate civilian political parties in order for them to play a crucial role in remaking the Sudanese people's future.
