AECF & 249Startups are excited to share with you the highlights from the recent launch event of the Sudan SME Catalyser program, an initiative aimed at empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Sudan to thrive despite challenging economic conditions.
Sudan SME Catalyser is 12.5 million Euro programme funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) via KfW and implemented by AECF in partnership with 249Startups .
At the launch event, held on 13th April, our esteemed experts and investors came together to analyze the potential opportunities to address the impact of conflict on Sudanese businesses and economic trends. The session focused on empowering within the productive economic sector during times of fragility and risk through the technical assistant & funding that will be provided by the program. the panelists on the launching event were : Victoria Chelangat Sabula , Mathias Hague , Henrike Klau- Panhans and Mutaz Mohamednour .
The Sudan SME Catalyser program aims to provide catalytic financing, technical support, and tailored responses specifically designed for the Sudanese context. Funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) via KfW and implemented by AECF in partnership with249Startups, this program seeks to stimulate companies operating in the eastern states of Sudan or those interested in continuing their activities in "Al Gadarif, Kassala, Red Sea states".

Now, we invite Sudanese businesses to seize the opportunity to participate in the Sudan SME Catalyser program. If the company is seeking avenues to broaden its operations and sustain ongoing success, if the business is formally registered and actively operating or planning to relaunch within Sudan. If the business is actively contributing to positive change in the agribusiness or renewable energy sectors in Sudan, and has demonstrated a successful track record of at least two years, then this program is tailored for them.
