THE SUCCINCT CORPORATE CANCER MYTH BUSTER (and 10 ways to reduce your chances of being 1 of 2 people who now contract cancer in their lifetime)

Work your ass off your whole life only to be smacked in the pancreas, prostate or liver by cancer?

Don’t know about you, but if there was a way I could prevent that, I’d probably want to know about it, right?

In the next 5 minutes I’m going to give you 10 takeaways to boost your odds of avoiding being 1 out of 2 people who now get diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime

Cancerous cells are always being created in the body.? It is an ongoing process that has existed for…

Well ever since day dot.

Naturally there are some parts of your immune system that are built as seek and destroy missiles and whose sole function it is to find these cancerous cells and eradicate them.

Only? in the 20th century did rates of cancer cases explode.

I remember watching TV adverts in the 90s, stating that one in seven of us would get cancer

Now when I’m watching commercials - it’s one in two?

What happened over the last 30 years?

Did we suddenly stop researching cancer?

Did investment drop?

There seems to be more focus and talk about it than ever before.

It doesn’t make sense

I’m going to burst a few bubbles here, so if you’re easily offended,?

Avert your eyes young maiden.

Despite what many people generally believe, cancer is not a mysterious disease that suddenly attacks you out of the blue, something that you can’t do anything about.

Equally it is not something that is going away any time soon

The cancer therapy market was valued in 2020 at approximately 158 billion dollars and in 2026 it’s forecast to be 268 billion dollars.

And I use therapy or treatment, because cancer is not something that we will cure long term

There’s too much money to be made on the treatment of it

Cure’s are short term and don’t make any money.? Treatment on the other hand lasts for years and years and makes a tonne of money.

Now this is where we have to be grown ups?

No one.? Not one single person is going to stand up and protect you from cancer, but you.

YOU have to take ownership.

Not your parents, not your husband, not your wife - YOU.

Once you decide this, there are quite a lot of things you can do to take back ownership.

Now I’m not pretending to be a doctor, so please don’t take any of this as gospel and if in doubt please speak to a registered medical practitioner?

What I’m presenting below is a basic view and understanding of a complex subject

But one that is based on years and hundreds if not thousands of hours reading in and around the subject of holistic health.

What I’m seeking to do is give you some clear tangible takeaways and the tools to reduce risks in your own lives.

So I'm going to put my cards on the table…

Cancer has definitive causes that your body can correct in many cases IF it has enough time.

Cancer tumours begin when more cancerous cells are being created than your overworked immune system can destroy

Constant exposure to tens of thousands of man made chemicals through our food and water, increasingly strong electromagnetic frequencies in the form of Wifi, 5G etc, and increasing levels of consistent stress ALL lead to a more acidic environment in the body and an immune system that is far from optimal.

And at some point it stops being able to keep cancer cells in check.

I want you to stop at this point, wherever you are reading this and pause

Look to your left?

Look to your right

At least one of you is going to get cancer in your lifetime.

Let that sink in for a second?

No more ostrich, head in the sand

No more I’ll be one of the lucky ones

I want you to acknowledge the world you live in, what the data says and then make a decision to take conscious ownership of your own health.

It is not a game of roulette, as we incorrectly assume or have been told; prevention is the best antidote to boosting your immune system into a disease fighting machine.

Pay attention to your lifestyle habits, nutritional density, alkalinity, exercise and sleep and learn how to relieve and manage stress, optimise your hormones and get regular exposure to sunlight.

Here’s 10 practical things that you can do to reduce risk:

  1. Avoid excess sugar.? Cancer cells love sugar.? They have about 15 times more receptor cells for capturing sugar than healthy cells do.? Beware of hidden sugars in bread, salad dressings, cooking sauces and any juice drinks.? If you have it in hot drinks switch to stevia or xylitol which will not have the same effect.
  2. Reduce your intake of alcohol.? Now I’m no saint here, but recently becoming a dad, I’ve started to consciously become much more aware of how much or how regularly I drink.? Drinking up to 240ml of a 40% proof alcohol per week has no impact on health vs non drinkers one significant study found - so I don’t see any reason NOT to drink!? But too much alcohol can lead to damaging your DNA and the over abundance of oestrogen in the body, which for men leads to more fat storage and man boobs amongst other things!
  3. Spice up your life - add garlic to everything you can; the sulphur in garlic has been shown to boost the immune system’s response to cancer and even reduce tumour growth.? Turmeric is another food that has strong anti-inflammatory? properties with initial research showing that turmeric can suppress the growth of certain cancer tumours and reduce the spread of cancer.
  4. Broccoli, greens and bright coloured vegetables are not only full of fibre but the have powerful antioxidant effects.? Other foods/drinks that are packed full of antioxidants include green tea (swap one cup of this for a tea/coffee and go from there), Brazil nuts (eat sparingly if looking to lose weight) - but they contain selenium which most people are deficient in and helps the immune system function properly, blueberries (eaten alone or in a morning smoothie).
  5. DON’T hold your mobile phone to your head when on it, put it on speakerphone and hold at least half a meter away from your head.? Below shows an image of the radiation of a man’s head 15 mins before and after using a mobile phone.? Also think about how long you keep your phone in your pocket next to your crown jewels… (just saying).

6. Switch your phone to Airplane mode or at least switch off 5G and Wifi when you sleep.? Your body is subject to 1 quintillion (that’s 10 with 18 0’s) more electromagnetic frequency now than just 10 years ago in 2010.

7. Get access to sunlight for at least 15 minutes each day to promote vitamin D production.? In winter months supplement with vitamin D3.? I get a number of my clients to go out and sungaze with the morning tea/coffee.

8. Keep lean and fit.? As we gain weight, we not only have an increased risk of developing cancer, but we also decrease the chance of successfully fighting any possible tumours that may establish themselves.

9. Get your hormones checked, balanced and optimised.? The homeostasis of your entire body is orchestrated by your hormones and when they fall out of balance, all the body’s protective functions are compromised and it may actually provide an enviuronemtn that promotes the establishment abd sporeas of some cancers.

10. This last one, there is only just the very beginnings of evidence to suggest and it’s at it’s really at the limit of what science can explain.? But the basic premise is that increased levels of stress or anxiety and other psychosomatic mental/emotional conditions can lead to some cancers.? If our thoughts trigger hormone cascades in the body, which in turn we label with feelings, when we do that consistently and get trapped in certain negative thinking/feeling loops - we biochemically condition our bodies and the internal make up can begin to change.? For me, I don’t want to wait for the full research to emerge here, but would rather take ownership and put in place structures; not to alleviate stress necessarily, but to help process/manage it in more constructive ways consistently.? I talk about doing this by implementing lifestyle changes like the 3 alarms (alarm to wake up, to stop work and to go to bed), by introducing boundaries into work that stop it from taking over by consciously choosing what your day/schedule looks like.? Some of these simple practices, in the 3-9 months that I coach clients for have had some pretty profound effects on their life.? I’m NOT saying that these cure cancer, far from it, what I am saying is that they help reduce cortisol and improve wellbeing, which has tend to show an inverse relationship in early studies to certain types of cancers.
