To be successful at Work you need to be Successful at Home.
Having a family has made me more successful at work. Because of my family, I have become a better manager and have become more focused. Here are some of what I have learned.
Patience: Having kids has can be difficult at times and normally nothing goes as planned. I have learned to be patient and not react out of strong emotion.
Supportiveness: Being married to my wife has taught me to be successful at home. My wife and myself support each other, at home and at work. Otherwise our house hold would fall apart.
Consistency: Raising two girls can be tough, but my wife and myself always try to be consistent. We support each other actions which makes us even more consistent when raising our children.
Balance: Finding balance between work and home is always a juggling act. I have learned there is always a time and place.
Think: I have always thought before I act, but now focus more on the outcome.
Myself: Having a family has really taught me a lot about myself and has made me a better person. I find that I think less about myself and more about the people around me. I have also become aware of how my actions affect others. My wife once told me “When you’re happy, I’m happy. When you’re mad, I’m mad.”
Everything I have learned with my family at home, I have used at work. I find myself still learning and becoming a better man at home and in the office. Having a family has made me revaluate my life and what my priorities are. Please let me know what you have learned at home and what has helped you in the work place.
