Warehouse logistics is a hot topic and has been so for the last few years. The focus has been how we can increase the capacity for inbound and outbound deliveries as quickly as possible with the help of automation. In the media, we have seen how one investment after another has been successful. However, increasing capacity is not difficult, the question is at what cost? We live in an extremely volatile world and our investments in automation solutions must be scalable and adaptable with several other technologies in order to be future proof. We need to avoid building “islands” and “monuments” in the logistics flow.?With the stress for short-term cost reduction, it is a big risk for non-scalable and non-adaptable solutions. Another important question is how does it affect the most important resource we have, our staff? How do we handle the change? What kind of leadership do we need?
When you invest in warehouse logistics, how do you measure success? What KPI do you measure? What are you trying to achieve? What is your overall goals?
I have worked with warehouse logistics half of my life. It is a passion. A big reason is the complexity and the pace of o development and in innovation. Also the combination of soft and hard values in order to be successful.
All of above subjects I have written about on my blog?roblogistic.com?

2 年When automation is out of your budget due to the different economic situations of each company, country and/or global situation, you have to have the vision to undertake with what is within your reach and mostly it is the development of your staff, mainly those who They have fewer responsibilities. Specifically speaking of the improvements of a warehouse where primarily Inbound and outbound activities are carried out, the improvements are mainly the product arrangements according to the periods of their rotation, which can strategically vary according to the products that you manage, whether they are perishable or for its period of obsolescence (SMOG). The best leadership that we must exercise these days is that of total care for our human resources, exploring flexible time models for the best optimization of it and thus maintaining more stable indicators of productivity and results in general.
