You Know What to Do: So Why Aren’t You Doing It?
Most execs and high-performers don’t fail because they don’t know what to do. They fail because they don’t execute.
Think about it. You know how to lose weight. You know exercise is good for you. You know sleep matters.
Yet, 76% of executives in the U.S. report being chronically stressed - and over 60% are overweight or obese.
Why?
Last week, I spoke at one of the UK’s top price comparison sites about The 5 Pillars of Wellbeing. The room was filled with smart, accomplished professionals. People who genuinely care about their health.
And yet, the biggest question wasn’t what to do.
It was how the hell do I actually make it happen?
Here’s why I see high-achievers fail over and over when it comes to their health:
1?? Waiting for the Perfect Time
There isn’t one. If you’re waiting for a “quiet period” at work, or when things “settle down,” you’ll wait forever. Your calendar isn’t magically clearing up.
The best time to start? Yesterday. The second-best time? Right now.
2?? Overcomplicating the Process
You don’t need a custom meal plan, biohacking, or 17 supplements. Simplicity scales. Complexity fails.
Do 3 things:
That’s it.
3?? Not Scheduling It In
If it’s not in your calendar, it doesn’t exist.
Would you skip an investor meeting because you “got busy”? No. But skipping workouts? Happens all the time.
Block out 30 minutes a day. Make it a non-negotiable.
4?? Perfectionist Mindset = Failure
All-or-nothing thinking is why you keep quitting.
Missed a workout? Get back tomorrow. Ate junk? Get back to real food at the next meal.
Done > Perfect.
5?? Zero Accountability = Guaranteed Failure
Left to your own devices, you’ll negotiate with yourself.
“I’ll start Monday.” “One skipped workout won’t matter.” “I’ll be more consistent next month.”
Get a coach. Find a partner. Build a system. Because your mind will always choose comfort over progress.
Final Thought:
You already know the answer. The question is - are you finally going to act on it?
